Dominiq Ponder arrived as a walk-on quarterback with no scholarship, no guarantee, and no shortcuts. What he had was an unshakeable belief in himself and a relentless work ethic that refused to quit. Day after day he outworked the room, studied the playbook longer than anyone, and earned the respect of every coach and teammate around him.
But Dominiq's greatness was never just about what he did on the field. He became the heartbeat of the quarterback room, mentoring incoming freshmen, lifting teammates through adversity, and leading by example in every practice, every film session, every moment. His selflessness was as legendary as his determination.
That commitment did not go unnoticed. Coach Prime recognized what Dominiq represented, not just as a player, but as a person, and gave him the honor of choosing his jersey number. He chose 7. A number that now carries the weight of everything he stood for: faith, perseverance, and the belief that nothing given means everything earned.
